In fact Captain Arthur Philip came by sea in 1788. Like all Government services these days, the call to privatise Sydney Ferries continues relentlessly.
If State Governments privatised all of its enterprises, does that make the abolition of State Governments any easier?
Would our lives be made better with less Government?
The reality is that the less Government that there is means that the less responsive and accountable to the public our Government becomes.
That is not to say that the way in which Sydney Ferries is run can never be improved. All parties associated with the operations of our great
Ferry service should come together and thrash out reforms that need to be made.
Only an Ostrich buries its head in the sand and only Sydney Ferries bury their hulls in the water.
